It is kind of crazy that we have somehow reached the end of the year again. With it comes our annual mention of the best and worst books we read this year (You can see last year’s here). In addition, and in lieu of the holiday spirit, we will also be doing a giveaway as a thank you to all our readers for supporting us this year. Taynement’s Best:
I struggled this year, reading wise. I didn’t read a lot of books that really tickled my fancy and I hope I have better luck next year. The best book I read this year was Trevor Noah’s “Born a Crime” but it was a back list I read later, so I didn’t think it qualified so then, my favorite book this year was Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. You can find my thoughts on it here. It is also being adapted to a tv series with Riley Keough as lead.

Leggy’s Best:
The best book I read this year, hands down – A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum and you can read my full thoughts on it here. The day I read this book, I told Tayne that it would be my best book of the year and here we are at the end of the year and nothing has knocked it off.

Taynement’s worst:
Absolutely terrible book. Terrible writing. Terrible retelling. This book propelled me to be serious about dropping a book if it is not doing it for me. You can find my review on it here.
Leggy’s Worst:
Hands down, the worst book I read this year was Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey. I’ve never met a more annoying and delusional heroine in my entire life and I’ve read some pretty out there romance. You can read my full review here. I also gave this book one star on good reads.

My favorite book this year was Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. I read it in May this year and it heavily influenced my morning routine. It’s now December and I still find myself doing a lot of what the book recommends and enjoying it!

I have a few favorites from this year but for the purposes of this giveaway, I’ll choose the Imam of Tawi Tawi by Ian Hamilton. Picked it one weekend because I needed an audiobook for a trip that day, it was available at my local library and the name caught my attention.
Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was actually very interesting. Some parts were dragged out a bit but the writer always redeemed himself.
My worst book is from the same author and same series. It’s called the Princeling of Nanjing. Since I enjoyed one Ava Lee novel by Ian, thought I would enjoy another. I was wrong.

My favorite book this year was To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and so far i haven’t read a worst book yet if i don’t like the book and i feel boring reading it i won’t continue to read it and not finishing it.

My fave would bee The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang , and worst The Cabin At The End Of The World, it wasn’t bad, just not my favorite of my reads, it got crazy.

My favorite book of the year (oh shall I say the best book I read this year) was Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime. I also really liked Yaa Gyasi’s Homegoing. The worst: I’m currently reading it lol, and it’s Children of Blood and Bone.
